Banafsheh Nikmehr
Technical Supervisor, Senior Embryologist
Dr. Nikmehr, MS, Ph.D., HCLD/TS (ABB) is a certified technical lab supervisor and a senior embryologist at Carolinas Fertility Institute. She is a board-certified embryologist by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB). She received her Master’s in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2012 and Ph.D. in Reproductive Biology in 2018. Then, she joined the Male Fertility Research Group (MFRG) at Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) to complete her postdoctoral fellowship.
Dr. Nikmehr has a strong research background in different reproductive biology disciplines, mainly male infertility. She started her journey as an embryologist in 2013 and joined CFI in 2020. She is currently a senior embryologist at CFI and serves as the technical supervisor of the embryology lab. She also has a leading role in a joint experimental clinical trial between CFI and WFIRM that aims at treating male infertility for azoospermia patients via Round Spermatid Injection (ROSI, NCT04298255).
