When Carolinas Fertility Institute (CFI) designed their Winston Salem office, a number of distinctive features were included. The most unique element is a full-length, wall window that provides patients and visitors a view of the high-tech IVF lab. CFI is one of the few practices in the country that offers this level of lab observation.
“We wanted patients to feel welcome to see all aspects of our practice and its specializations,” said Dr. Tamer M. Yalcinkaya. Founder of CFI. “The window allows a view of where some of the most important work that happens during the fertility process.”
The window offers a view of Chief Embryologist Cihan Halicigil at work using equipment that includes the EmbryoScope™, an IVF incubator with a built-in camera that provides time-lapse imaging of fertilized oocytes in a safe incubation environment. The system provides detailed information about development of embryos up to Day 5. This enhances the selection process and increases the chance for success.
The CFI lab also utilizes LifeAire™, an air purification system designed specifically for IVF. LifeAire is a system used to minimize the potentially devastating variable of ambient air, and maximize the in vitro culture environment, laboratory potential and clinical outcomes.
CFI is one of the only labs in the US that uses the EmbryoScope and LifeAire combination, and that’s one of the reasons current pregnancy success rates at the practice are far above the national average.
Carolinas Fertility Institute has offices in Winston Salem and Greensboro. The practice accepts most insurance plans and offers a range of options for self-pay patients, including IVF, Donor egg IVF and Fertility Preservation.
